   Arrival and transfer to Ubud

   Arrive at Ngurah Rai International Airport, Denpasar. Clear immigration and baggage, meet our representative and transfer to your hotel in Ubud. The cultural heart of Bali in the foothills — rice terraces, a palace, a monkey forest and a gallery or a gamelan on every lane. The rest of the day is free to settle in. Overnight in Ubud.

   Ubud: Tegallalang rice terraces and a swing over the valley

   Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Ubud — the Tegallalang rice terraces and a swing over the valley; the Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary and the Ubud Palace; and the Tirta Empul holy water temple and Goa Gajah. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Ubud.

   Ubud to Senggigi

   Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Senggigi — a transfer to Denpasar and a thirty-minute flight to Lombok. The main beach strip of Lombok, looking across at Bali, with Rinjani rising behind it. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the Batu Bolong temple on its headland at sunset. Overnight in Senggigi.

   Senggigi: Sasak village of Sade and a hand-weaving demonstration

   Breakfast at the hotel. A full day in Senggigi — the Sasak village of Sade and a hand-weaving demonstration; the Malimbu hill viewpoint over the Gili islands; and the Benang Kelambu and Benang Stokel waterfalls. The evening is free for dinner and a walk on your own. Overnight in Senggigi.

   Senggigi to Labuan Bajo

   Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Labuan Bajo — a one-hour-ten-minute flight east along the archipelago. The harbour town at the western tip of Flores, and the only way into the Komodo National Park. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the Komodo dragons on Rinca or Komodo island. Overnight in Labuan Bajo.

   Labuan Bajo: Padar island viewpoint over three coloured bays

   Labuan Bajo to Yogyakarta

   Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Yogyakarta — a flight by way of Denpasar, about four hours in all. The Javanese court city — a living sultanate, batik workshops, and the two greatest temples in South East Asia on its doorstep. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the Borobudur Buddhist temple at sunrise. Overnight in Yogyakarta.
