The Malaysian capital, where the Petronas Twin Towers stand over colonial shophouses, temple lanes and some of the best shopping in Asia. The rest of the day is free to settle in.     Kuala Lumpur to Pangkor Island

    Breakfast at the hotel and check out. Leave for Pangkor Island — a 200 km drive to Lumut and a forty-minute ferry. A small fishing island off Lumut, with Dutch fort ruins, satay-fish drying racks and quiet coves. Check in on arrival and, as the day allows, the Dutch Fort and the Batu Bersurat carved rock. Overnight in Pangkor Island.
