Bhutan Phuentsholing, Thimphu & Paro Drive-In/Drive-Out Tour

The road gradually climbs from the subtropical foothills into Bhutan's interior mountain region, passing forests, river valleys, waterfalls and hillside settlements. OPTION 1 — TIGER'S NEST MONASTERY HIKE: Drive to the Taktsang trailhead and begin the hike to Tiger's Nest Monastery. The trail climbs through pine forest, prayer flags and mountain viewpoints. The walk is moderate to strenuous and generally takes approximately 4-6 hours round trip depending on pace and stops. Rest at the cafeteria viewpoint before continuing through the final stair sections to the monastery. Follow all dress-code, security and photography restrictions. Horse service may be available for part of the uphill route at direct cost, but the final approach requires walking. OPTION 2 — CHELELA PASS EXCURSION: Drive towards Chelela Pass, one of Bhutan's highest motorable road points. The journey passes through dense forest and winding mountain roads. At the pass, enjoy prayer flags, alpine scenery and views towards the Paro and Haa valleys. Himalayan peaks may be visible in clear weather but cannot be guaranteed. Visit the accessible monastery or sacred area associated with the pass according to road conditions, local access and available time. After breakfast, check out from the hotel and complete any required exit formalities at the border. Begin the drive towards Bagdogra Airport through the plains of North Bengal.
